MP: Government prioritising wildlife and natural environment
Today the Environment Secretary is setting out ambitious plans to restore nature, treble tree-planting rates and tackle biodiversity loss. This will help us meet our climate change targets and also safeguards our environment for future generations.
John said,
“Our natural environment is one of our country’s chief glories, and I welcome these plans to treble tree-planting rates, restore at least 35,000 hectares of degraded peatlands and set a new world-leading target of species abundance to halt the decline of species. The Government is rightly putting our wildlife and natural environment at the forefront of our green recovery, which will boost biodiversity and create thousands of new jobs.”
