MP tours school and sees new walkway and pupils
John Baron MP today visited Janet Duke Primary School, Markhams Chase, Basildon. He met Mrs Harriet Phelps-Knights [Headteacher] and was shown around the school and talked with children and teachers. John also invited the school to join him at the Fun Walk this year to help with fundraising, and will be helping the school in its campaign for a zebra crossing outside the front of the school.
John said:
“I was impressed with the discipline and care shown by teachers. I also congratulated the school on its recent 11+ success. We have promised to keep in touch. I will do what I can to help them with their zebra crossing campaign, and they may well be joining us for this year’s Fun Walk.”
Harriet said:
“It was a pleasure to be able to celebrate the successes of the school including the Funhouse Pre School and the new corridor. John and I discussed ways in which we can work together to support our pupils, parents and the local community as much as possible.”
