MP congratulates Ford’s technical staff school

John Baron MP recently visited The Phoenix Primary School (Leinster Road, Laindon) and met Ford employees from the Dunton Technical Centre, who are running free workshops to help local parents become more computer literate. Working in partnership with Basildon Education Services Trust (BEST) and Phoenix School, the informal workshops are being run for 10 weeks and are designed for people who have never used a computer before as well as those looking to build on existing skills.

John said:

“This is an excellent initiative. The training is designed to enable parents to relate to their children’s school work as well as to assist with using the internet to apply for jobs and on-line services. Ford, The Phoenix School and BEST should all be congratulated.”

David Cayton, Ford of Britain Education and Community Department, said:

“Ford is very pleased to continue its relationship with local schools and BEST by sharing our IT expertise with local parents”.
