MP takes questions from Key Stage 2 school students.

Recently in Parliament, John Baron MP met with students from St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, Billericay. The students had been on a specially designed tour by the Parliamentary Education Service which was followed by a workshop. This workshop gave students the chance to further their understanding of Parliament as a functioning political body and place of work.

John Baron MP was invited by the school to meet the students after their workshop for a chat and to answer any questions they might have.

John said:

“It was good to see both the teachers and students enjoying their visit to Parliament. The students asked some good questions about my role as an MP, and we discussed the schools participation in this year’s Fun Walk. Thanks also to the teachers for organising the visit.”

Angela Moreton [Assistant Headteacher, St Peter’s Catholic Primary School] said:

“Our School Council visit to Westminster has now become an annual trip, and is a big incentive in standing for election! As well as a very interesting tour of the Palace of Westminster, the children enjoyed a very informative workshop on the democratic process. However, their meeting with Mr Baron was the high spot of the day, and we all very much appreciated the time he spent talking and answering the children’s questions.”
