MP congratulates staff for ‘winter bed strategy’

John Baron MP today attended the official opening of a new ward at Basildon Hospital at the invitation of Clare Panniker, Chief Executive and Ian Luder, Chairman. John was shown around the new ward which is part of the Hospital Trust’s winter bed strategy to provide additional inpatient beds. The new ward will provide 28 of an additional 67 beds that will be opened this winter. The winter bed strategy aims to ensure that when the demand increases for emergency care through the winter months, the Trust will be able to provide care which will improve patient safety.

John said:
