PRESS RELEASE
John Baron MP criticises petition from Julie Morgan MP over Dale Farm travellers
John says MP is wrong to argue travellers should stay
Responding to the intention of Julie Morgan, MP for Cardiff North, to table a petition to the House of Commons urging Basildon Council not to proceed with a forced eviction of the travellers at the illegal site at Dale Farm, Cray’s Hill, John said:
“Julie Morgan and I have crossed swords before in Parliament over this issue. Her line is that, despite this being an illegal site, the travellers should be allowed to stay. This is wrong. The law must be upheld to protect our greenbelt.
“Basildon Council is absolutely right to enforce planning law and return this illegal site to our greenbelt. Otherwise, we have one law for the travellers and one law for the settled community.
“The travellers are wrong not to move on peacefully. But the Government is also wrong because it’s refused my request to identify temporary sites outside the District using surplus Government land, so these travellers have somewhere to go. Julie Morgan should be pressing the Government over this issue, instead of criticising Basildon Council for upholding the law.”

I have just located this website John, I am delighted that the Mp for Cardiff North Julie Morgan is on the side of the travellers, it was a concern to me that I had no knowledge of an M.P who was standing up for human rites of the travellers, and was against ethnic cleansing in this great Country of ours. I note this site says you won’t reply to comments, well that is very arrogant and ignorant of you.
