MP has reservations about planned closure of Billericay Police Station

Today Essex Police released details of its proposals to ensure policing in our area is best fitted to local patterns and demand. In particular, the proposals are intended to propose a viable Police budget for the coming years. This will entail greater efficiencies, the closure of some police stations and a reduction of staffing levels. Billericay Police Station is amongst the list of 21 buildings earmarked for disposal.

John said,

“Whilst understanding the need for greater efficiencies within Essex Police, I do have reservations about the closure of Billericay Police Station, and am raising questions about the reasons for these decisions. I am pleased Essex Police are planning a period of engagement with our communities and are willing to listen to our views and concerns.”
