MP congratulates club and thanks bonus pot sponsors.
Today John Baron MP presented the bonus cheque from this year’s Fun Walk to the Basildon Disabled Sports & Social Club at Swan Mead Centre, Church Road, Basildon. The club raised nearly £500 pounds in sponsorship themselves, which entitled them to a bonus cheque of £432. The club provides a range of facilities for disabled people – including table tennis, pool and a shooting range. John is Chairman of the Fun Walk Committee.
John said:
“Many congratulations to the club for raising £900 in total from this year’s Fun Walk. This is a big increase on last year, and this money will greatly help in providing extra club facilities. Our thanks go to our bonus pot sponsors for their generosity.”
Betty Jeffery, Club Chairman, thanked John Baron and said:
“Thanks for a most enjoyable day. Some people really pushed themselves this year but it was all worthwhile and the money will really help the club”
