MP meets newly established Chinese company
John Baron MP today visited Phoenix Publishing in Southfields Business Park, Laindon. Phoenix are the largest publishing company in China and opened its UK Head Office in Laindon in August this year. The company employs 11,000 people in China and leads the way in publishing, book distribution and printing as well as having interests in hotels, real estate and finance. Its annual sales income is around £1.2billion. The Laindon is the group’s main UK office and deals with printing, copyright trading and publishing businesses. John was presented with a 2013 calendar – the year of the snake!
John said:
“We had a constructive meeting with the management and discussed a range of issues. It is good to see international companies setting up business in the local area and creating jobs, and I very much hope they will be successful.”
