MP hears about how the shops help ‘Fight for Every Heartbeat’
John Baron MP has visited the British Heart Foundation shop in Eastgate Centre Basildon to discuss with Louise Harbour (Area Manager) volunteers and staff about how the shop raises vital funds for life saving medical research. £31 million was raised last year alone in all BHF shops. The shops also offer high quality low cost goods as well as healthy heart information. The shop also helps with volunteering and employment opportunities for local people.
John said:
“The British Heart Foundation shop does a great job raising money for research and providing a service for the community. But more stock and volunteers are needed. So please step forward – it’s for a good cause.”
Louise said:
“We’re really grateful to John Baron MP for coming in, visiting our shop and donating to us. Stock donations are absolutely essential to the success of the charity, and play a vital part in fighting coronary heart disease, the UK’s single biggest killer.”
“We’re also always looking for more volunteers, so even if you can only spare an hour, pop to find out more information.”
