MP: Government will continue to offer support
Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the Government has provided over £200 billion of support to individuals and business. In Basildon & Billericay, 168 loans under the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme, worth £41,891,058 in total, have been offered. Likewise, 2,341 Bounce Back Loans, worth £73,801,223 in total, have also been offered in the constituency. Together these schemes have made available a combined total of £115,692,281 in our area.
John said,
“The coronavirus pandemic has been very tough and challenging for businesses and individuals alike, but these figures demonstrate the huge scale of support the Government has been making available to protect businesses and livelihoods, and to Basildon & Billericay in particular. The Government will continue to offer support during these difficult times through the Winter Economy Plan and other measures, including extra support if local restrictions mean businesses have to close.”
