MP: Efforts against Covid-19 are global
At the weekend the Government announced the UK is sending lifesaving medical equipment to India where the covid-19 situation has taken a tragic turn with severe shortages of oxygen. The UK is sending shipments of over 600 oxygen concentrators and ventilators, with the first shipment arriving tomorrow, and the Government will liaise with its counterparts in India to identify what further assistance the UK can render.

“The scenes in India are tragic, and are a strong reminder that the effort against covid-19 is truly global. It is welcome news that the British Government is providing practical assistance to our Indian friends, especially given our strong links with the country, and I wish the Indian authorities every success in addressing the current wave.”
