Book launch at Conservative Party Conference
John Baron MP has contributed to a new book (‘The Future of Conservatism: Values Revisited’) which is designed to provoke and facilitate debate within the Conservative Party on the best future for our country. Contributors include David Davis MP (former Shadow Home Secretary), Ruth Lea (director and Economic Advisor to Arbuthnot Banking Group), David Green (founder of the independent think-tank Civitas), Bill Cash MP, John Redwood MP, Graham Brady MP (Chairman of the 1922 Backbench Committee) and John Baron MP. John said,
“This is a book of ideas, a template for a wider discussion. The purpose is to encourage new thinking for the Conservative Party going forward, with the aim of securing a Conservative majority at the next general election.”
“The book contains proposals to boost economic growth, overhaul the tax system and reduce burdens on business. It includes plans to reform the police and criminal justice system, reclaim lost civil liberties, change trade union laws and give the British people a say on EU membership. There are also policies to reshape Britain’s foreign policy, and to improve the structure of our Armed Forces.”
