MP says this will help with our economic recovery
Today the Government has announced new funding to help get young people into work, as it continues to prioritise job creation and ensuring more young people can gain important skills as we rebound from the pandemic. The Plan for Jobs offers a £1,000 bonus for every trainee that businesses take on, up to a maximum of 10 trainees. Programmes last between six weeks and twelve months, and focus on developing important employability skills as well as English, maths and digital skills. This is in addition to the apprentice scheme announced last year, which offers employers up to £2,000 for each new apprentice they hire, and the £2 billion Kickstart Scheme.
John said,
“I welcome this initiative to help young people acquire the skills they need to get on with their careers, whilst also giving businesses of all sizes a helping hand. Our economic recovery from the pandemic will take time, but a skilled workforce will be able to bounce back more quickly and fill more jobs across the country.”
