MP: Over 10.5 million people have received a vaccine
The UK is running the world’s first alternating dose vaccine trial, to see whether different vaccines can be used as part of a future two-dose regime. The Government is making £7 million available in funding, enabling British scientists to study the effectiveness of combining vaccine doses. This information will help inform our response to the coronavirus in the weeks, months and years ahead. However, anyone outside the trial will continue to receive the same vaccine for their second dose as their first.

“This is another excellent example of British science, expertise and innovation playing a leading role in the response to the coronavirus. Meanwhile, it is excellent news that over 10.5 million people across the UK have so far received a vaccine, including 9 in 10 of those aged 75 and over in England.”
