MP supports Holocaust Educational Trust project

The Fun Walk Committee is helping to subsidise two students from Billericay School to visit Auschwitz in Poland. The visit is part of a wider project to educate students about both the Holocaust and its contemporary lessons. The project is organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust [HET], and is already being subsidised by the Trust.

John said:

“These visits are a unique opportunity for students to see the camps themselves and reflect on the lessons to be learnt. By understanding the horrors that took place in that dark chapter of history, we can help to ensure that future generations never again allow racism or discrimination to go unchallenged.”

“As with last year, the Fun Walk Committee will add to existing subsidies so that the cost of the visit is not a barrier for any student.”

Fiona Smith [Assistant Headteacher, Billericay School] said:

“We greatly value the support given to our students by John Baron MP and the Fun Walk Committee.  This will undoubtedly further understanding about the Holocaust within our school community.”
