John Baron MP congratulates local volunteers

MP addresses volunteers celebration at Towngate Theatre, Basildon

On Friday evening, John Baron MP addressed volunteers who had gathered to celebrate National Volunteers Week at the Mirren Studio, Towngate Theatre, Basildon. Also present were Chris Evans, Chief Executive of the BBWCVS (Basildon, Billericay and Wickford Council for Voluntary Service), Stephen Metcalfe, MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock, and Cllr Andy Baggott. The BBWCVS asked John to welcome everyone and highlight his Fun Walk on 18th July.

John said:

“There is a strong voluntary ethos in South Essex of which we can be proud. On behalf of my constituents, I thank all volunteers for their hard work and selfless devotion to others, which makes a real difference to so many people less fortunate than ourselves.

“On 18th July, we will be holding our annual Fun Walk at Barleylands Farm. Last year over 70 local charities and good causes raised nearly £45,000, so if you would like to join us then please get in touch.”
