MP highlights Olympic links with the Eastern region

Last week, John Baron MP attended a briefing for MPs at the House of Parliament hosted by the London 2012 All-Party Parliamentary Group. The session drew MPs’ attention to, amongst others, local businesses which had won Olympic contracts, community projects linked to London 2012 and schools which had signed up to the London 2012 Education programme. It also included details of the torch relay route, as the Olympic torch travels the length and breadth of the country prior to the Games’ opening ceremony.

John said,

“I am pleased to highlight local links with the London 2012 Olympic Games. I am particularly proud that the Olympic torch, which was developed in Basildon, will be passing through the town on 6th July. I am sure residents will come out in numbers for this memorable occasion.”
