MP congratulates local Scout groups and remembers ‘Bob a Job’ week himself
The well-known ‘Bob a Job’ week of old is to relaunch as Scout Community week this year after a 17 year break and scouts in Basildon and Billericay will be taking part. The Scout association wants residents’ suggestions for projects Scouts in our area could do to make a difference. This could be creating a garden for a hospital or care home, litter picking in a local park or making useful individual items such as bird boxes or bike racks. To submit your ideas please email community.week@scouts.org.uk or visit www.scouts.org.uk/scoutcommunityweek for further information on this great initiative.

“Scout Community Week is taking place 14th-20th May this year across the UK and I am proud to support it, particularly as scout groups in the Basildon and Billericay area are heavily involved. The week will see Scouts taking part in an array of tasks and projects to make a positive impact on the lives of local people.”
“As a Scout I well remember ‘Bob a Job’ week. It was a great way of helping people and raising money for good causes. I’m therefore delighted the concept is being relaunched, and encourage residents to suggest projects.”
