MP warns of Coalition Government failure if council election’s message is not learned.

Today the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister will be in Basildon to lay out the Government’s proposals going forward.

John said,

“Sadly we lost four good Councillors in the elections last week. The overriding message on the doorstep was that people want the Government to focus more on the bread-and-butter issues, and less on peripheral issues like House of Lords reform, which no-one is interested in.”

“People want to see a cut in small business corporation tax to foster more growth and jobs, a tougher law-and-order and immigration policy, and less EU regulation and a cut to the EU budget, which could save this country billions of pounds.”

“The Liberals need to wake up to the fact that their fate is tied to the success of the Coalition Government. Our message is stop wasting time and focus more on what matters to people. Otherwise this Coalition Government will fail.”
