Rt. Hon. David Davis MP guest speaker

On Friday evening the Basildon and Billericay Conservative Association held its Annual Dinner at Stock Brook Country Club, Billericay. This sell-out event was deemed a great success, the highlight being a speech by the Rt. Hon. David Davis MP, which was then followed by an extended Q&A session.

Cllr Phil Turner [Association Chairman] welcomed everyone, Cllr Kay Twitchen said Grace, Phil gave the Loyal Toast, John Baron MP introduced David Davis, and Cllr Tony Ball gave the Vote of Thanks. The dinner was organised by Cllr Tony Hedley and his wife Christine with help from Tina Arnold, Jo Turner and Annie Akinin.

John said:

“David rightly focussed on the need for an EU referendum, a tougher immigration policy, and a more growth orientated economic policy to supplement the austerity package. His speech went down extremely well, as did the Q&A session afterwards.”

“Our thanks go to Tony, Christine and the team for organising a great evening, and to Stock Brook Country Club. There were lots of smiling faces. Politics is a serious business, but it’s also got to be fun.”
