MP organises mass letter of Conservative MPs

Last night John Baron MP delivered a letter, signed by over 90 Conservative MPs, to Number 10 Downing Street. The letter calls upon the Prime Minister to place on the Statute Book by the next General Election a commitment to hold a referendum on the nature of our relationship with the EU within the next Parliament.

John said,

“The case for a referendum grows by the day. The EU is constantly evolving, yet no-one under the age of 55 has had the opportunity to express their view.”

“Whatever one’s views on the EU, a commitment on the Statute Book to hold such a referendum would address the very real lack of public trust when people hear politicians making promises.”
