MP thanks bonus pot sponsors and volunteers

Today John Baron MP presented bonus pot cheques to the 100+ charities and good causes which took part in the 2012 ‘Jubilee’ Fun Walk at Barleylands Farm in May. Around £40,000 in bonus money was given to charities which had already raised £60,000 on the day – this representing a 65% bonus. £100,000 in total was therefore raised by this year’s Walk. This breaks all records – and compares with £50,000 raised in 2010 and £75,000 raised in 2011. The presentation took place at the Anisha Grange Care Home, Outwood Common Road, Billericay, Essex, CM11 2LE at 6pm.

Fun Walk Committee Chairman John Baron MP said:

“Our sincere thanks go to our bonus pot sponsors: Swan Housing Association, NYSE Euronext, Veolia Environmental Services, c2c Rail Ltd, Toomey Motors, Ford Motor Company, Hallmark Care Homes, Stock Brook Country Club, Bellway Homes, SELEX Galileo, Greater Anglia, Mr Barrie Stone, IFE Global Logistics and others.”

“Their generous support has been instrumental in the success of this annual Fun Walk, which is helping so many good causes in the nooks and crannies of our communities.”

“I would also like to pay tribute to our volunteers. These include the Committee, ‘Team Handsome’, the Ladies, numerous Councillors, marshalls, walkers and all those who sponsored so generously. Thanks also to Barleylands Farm and Hallmark Healthcare for hosting the walk and reception, and to Hunt, Smee & Co for doing the accounts.”
