MP congratulates team on service to parents with sick children

Today John Baron MP visited Ronald McDonald House at Basildon Hospital to hand over a £5,000 cheque raised from his Fun Walk held in May at Barleylands Farm.  Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation for parents who need to stay overnight at the hospital whilst their child is being treated.  It has 3 bedrooms and a communal area, and relies totally on voluntary subscriptions.  The attached photographs show John presenting the cheque to the team at Ronald McDonald House and one without the cheque.

John said:

“It is a great pleasure presenting the £5,000 to such a worthwhile cause.  The team here at Ronald McDonald do a fantastic job in helping to ensure parents can remain close to children who are having to stay for treatment in Basildon Hospital.  My thanks to all involved.”
