John Baron MP: local MPs and MEPs visit Ford Dunton

MP says Dunton is jewel in Ford’s crown

On Friday morning, John Baron MP and other local MPs and MEPs visited Dunton Technical Centre, Laindon, for a tour of the site and meetings with senior management.

John said:

“Dunton Technical Centre is one of Ford’s two key R+D centres outside the US. Employing over 4000 people, it is recognised worldwide for its engineering expertise and is truly a jewel in Ford’s crown. We are lucky to have it situated locally.

“If we are to compete with the cheaper manufacturing costs in the Far East then we must invest in R+D. It was therefore the right decision by the coalition government to guarantee a loan from the European Investment Bank for use at Ford Dunton.”
