John and Nick discussing issues in John’s office in Parliament

MP meets Police and Crime Commissioner

This week John Baron MP met Nick Alston, the Essex Police and Crime Commissioner, in Parliament to discuss a range of local policing issues. Nick has been busy since being elected last year in getting to know the patch and instigating important changes. John took the opportunity to discuss constituency cases, including the need to stamp down on antisocial behaviour.

John said:

“This was a productive meeting helped by the fact that Nick is doing a good job. One of my local priorities is to combat antisocial behaviour at every level, and Nick is very supportive of this. Good co-ordination between local agencies is the key.”

Nick Alston said:

“I commend the lead that John has taken to co-ordinate local agencies in Basildon to help his constituents. If we are to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour effectively, we need to prioritise repeat and vulnerable victims and work in partnership to face these issues head on. I will be following and supporting John’s efforts and I will be following his hard work closely. As you can see from my Police and Crime Plan, anti-social behaviour is a priority for nearly all districts in Essex.”
