MP welcomes £450,000 improvement project
Today John Baron MP, at the invitation of c2c, officially opened the new booking hall at Basildon Station as part of a £450,000 project of improvements. New flooring and improved lighting will give the station a much more welcoming look. The new hall is just one of a number of planned improvements to the station which will also include increased cycle parking facilities, renovation to the stairs and platforms and repainting of the station.
John said:
“Passengers will benefit from these improvements to Basildon Station. The better lighting in particular will be welcome. Congratulations to c2c for this investment – it can only add to their already excellent service reputation”
c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said:
“The old-look Basildon station simply wasn’t providing the welcoming image for visitors to the town that we would all want it to portray, but now that has all been changed. I’m pleased to say the station’s appearance is lighter, brighter and safer, and it provides the facilities our customers would expect for somewhere as important as Basildon.”
