MP congratulates family and staff

John Baron MP last week helped launch the 90th Anniversary of N Shelley in Billericay High Street. The ladies fashion store opened its doors in 1924 and first traded from a tiny front room. The shop is still run by family and the current owner, Sarah Millett is the great-niece of the founder, Norah Shelley. The Anniversary was marked with a week of celebrations including an exhibition of ladies fashion over the past nine decades.

John said:

“N. Shelly is a great family run business that has been championing women’s fashion on Billericay High Street for 90 years. I was delighted to visit the shop last week to help celebrate this amazing milestone.”

“It was particularly interesting to meet Sarah and the team, and to see their display of photographs showing fashion over the last 90 years and the special moments which they have contributed to. Our congratulations go to Sarah, the family and the team.”

Sarah said:

“The Tea Party was a very personal celebration, perfect for a business like ours which is so very close to its customers.  Some of the ladies who joined us at the event have shopped with us for over 50 years.  We have never felt more proud of our heritage or more excited about the future.  Billericay is a wonderful town and we want to take this opportunity to extend a huge thanks to the customers we’ve had the honour to serve and the businesses we’ve shared the High Street with during the past 90 years.”
