MP criticises ‘talking loudly but carrying a small stick’
Today in the House of Commons the Prime Minister made a statement regarding the recent G20 Summit in Australia.
John asked,
“Is not the danger with the policy of talking loudly and carrying a small stick that it eventually gets found out by the bullies in the playground?”
The Prime Minister responded that Britain has the world’s fifth largest defence budget.
John said afterwards,
“Taking comfort from comparisons with other low-spending countries when it comes to defence is a high-risk policy. Countries not necessarily friendly to the West are dramatically increasing their defence budget and strike capabilities.”
