MP says still further to go

John Baron MP has welcomed new figures showing that 706 fewer people in Basildon and Billericay are relying on Jobseeker’s allowance than in December 2013. This means more people in work, with the security of a regular pay packet and a brighter future ahead of them.

John said,

“Over the last year, 706 fewer people are relying on benefits in Basildon and Billericay. This makes a huge difference to people’s lives and has, in large part, happened because the Government has been reforming welfare so it rewards work and backing business to create jobs.”

“Although this is welcome news, there is still further to go if we are going to get closer to our target of full employment.”
