MP says Defence Secretary is right on Russia
Today the Secretary of State for Defence, Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP, warned that Russia posed a ‘real and present danger’ to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, and pointed to increased Russian defence spending. It also emerged this morning that RAF Typhoon aircraft were scrambled yesterday to escort Russian bomber aircraft away from the British coast.
John said,
“The Defence Secretary is absolutely right to be concerned about Russian intentions towards the Baltic countries. What is it going to take for the UK to realise it needs to spend much more on defence? Actions speak louder than words – strong defence sends its own message.”
