John Baron MP says children’s safety needs prioritising
Today John Baron MP visited Laindon Park School at the invitation of Cristina Portoles, Head Teacher of the school. The reason was to discuss parking problems during peak times when children are being dropped off and picked up from school. This comes after a child was nearly involved in an accident. The school has already been in touch with Essex County Council and the South Essex Parking Partnership [SEPP].
John said:
“As ever, it was a pleasure visiting this excellent school. We discussed the problem of parking at peak times and the need to put in enforceable road markings on one side of the road outside the school. I am now contacting the Council and SEPP to get their support. We must prioritise the children’s safety.”
Mrs Cristina Portoles said:
“We have had concerns about the parking outside the school for a long time and done our best to engage with authorities, parents and residents towards sensible and considerate parking. The wellbeing of our children and the community are of paramount importance. We welcome all support towards achieving a resolution to this matter.”
