Last night, John Baron MP and his Fun Walk Committee hosted a presentation evening at which the 59 charities which took part in this year’s Fun Walk were handed their ‘bonus’ cheques. Each year a bonus pot is created through the generous donations of local companies and individuals – this year those being Veolia ES Cleanaway (lead sponsor), Swan Housing, Toomey Motors, Terry Peachey, Ken Kent, Barrie Stone, Steve Foster and others. The bonus’ are distributed on a pro rata basis, depending on and in addition to the monies raised by the charities themselves.

The presentation took place at the meeting rooms behind the Rising Sun pub (Billericay), and present to hand out the bonus cheques were Dean Dowie (Regional Director, Veolia ES Cleanaway), Ian Neithorpe (Swan Housing) and Steve Foster.

John said:

“This year’s Fun Walk was the best yet and the £50,000 raised will help many worthy causes. My thanks to our generous sponsors – Veolia ES Cleanaway, Swan Housing, Toomey Motors, Terry Peachey, Ken Kent, Barrie Stone, Steve Foster and others. My thanks also to the charities, their marshals and my own committee for making this such a success.”
