Today John Baron MP attended a ground breaking ceremony at Pioneer School, Ghyllgrove, Basildon. The ceremony was to mark the development of a major new extension. In attendance was Steve Horsted (Headteacher) , Pamela Stanley (Head of Governors), County Councillor Kay Twitchen (Deputy Chairman, Essex County Cllr), John Tibbetts (Chief Executive, Local Education Partnerships) and Jeff May (Skanska -the builders). John and others were asked to say a few words.

“Congratulations to everyone for the excellent team work in getting the development running so smoothly. In particular, the whole school team including Teachers and Governors, Essex County Council, Skanska and the LEP have pulled out all the stops and deserve our congratulations.”
“These extra facilities will help the students to better prepare for an independent life once they leave school, and are best located in familiar surroundings such as these.”
“These facilities will also help to ensure that there is a joined up approach between the various services once students leave, in order to give these kids the best possible help for the future.”
