Today, in Billericay High Street, John Baron MP joined Cty. Cllr. Kay Twitchen and other special guests for a blindfold walk along Billericay High Street to help raise awareness of the difficulties experienced by blind people. The walkers were guided by Billericay Lions members and, with the help of a white cane, were led along the road. John was invited to participate in this excellent initiative by Derek Prior, President of Billericay Lions.
John said afterwards:
“Many congratulations to Billericay Lions for putting this initiative together. Many of us take for granted our sight and yet for many thousands of people the inability to see is a daily struggle. This blindfold walk is a reminder to every one of the difficulties these people face.”
