MP thanks all who expressed support
Today John Baron MP declared support for Andrea Leadsom MP, having decided not to stand himself in the Conservative Party leadership contest.
John said,
“There are two key issues when honouring the referendum result: the first is that we separate the introduction of a fairer and controlled immigration policy from any trade talks; and the second is that we are prepared to fall back on World Trade Organisation rules if we can not access the Single Market. Andrea Leadsom has been clear on both issues in my discussions with her. I now look forward to supporting her in this leadership contest.”
“I would like to thank all those who sent in many kind messages as it became known that I was contemplating standing in the leadership contest. I also thank those colleagues who expressed support.”
