MP encourages local residents to give their views on proposals

Swan Housing Association has announced a two-day public exhibition to notify residents of its plans for the future of Laindon Shopping Centre. The exhibitions will be held at the Great Berry Residents’ Association (Nightingales, Langdon Hills) from 2.00pm – 8.00pm on 7th July, and at Laindon Library (5-7 New Century Road) from 2.00pm – 8.00pm on 8th July.

The exhibitions are an opportunity for the local community to feed their views into the process before Swan submits its final planning application to Basildon Council in the autumn.

A spokesperson for Swan said,

“We’re delighted to be unveiling our draft proposals to the local community. Our plans set out a positive future for Laindon, delivering a vibrant street frontage, retail, office space and new homes. As a committed local landlord, Swan is determined to bring about this long overdue regeneration by delivering a scheme that is both viable and meets the aspirations of the local community.”

“This public exhibition of our emerging plans is a great opportunity for people to view our draft plans, speak to the project team and provide their views.”

John said,

“I welcome Swan’s proposals for Laindon Shopping Centre, and I strongly encourage local residents to attend the upcoming public exhibitions detailing the emerging proposals for regeneration of the area.”

“This is an important chance for the local community to feed into the process and give their views on Swan’s plans for the improvement of the Shopping Centre. I encourage all to take part.”
