MP says fairness is important

Today John Baron MP questioned the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Theresa May MP, over immigration post-Brexit.

John asked,

“Does the PM agree that, whatever criteria are chosen to guide our immigration policy, it has got to be fair – and no longer discriminate against the rest of the world outside the EU?”

The Prime Minister broadly agreed that by controlling immigration, as we do with immigration outside the EU, we would be moving to a fairer system.

John said afterwards,

“Fairness must be at the core of any immigration system we introduce as we leave the EU. Talk from the EU of immigration being linked to any trade deals is therefore wide of the mark.”
