MP says Philip Green must plug pension fund hole

Yesterday the House of Commons held a debate following the recent publication of a joint Select Committee report into the collapse of British Home Stores (BHS). Having raised this issue with the Government in Parliament on 25th April, John Baron MP signed yesterday’s motion.

John said,

“The loss of pensions, particularly for those BHS workers in Basildon and Billericay, will cause real hardship and disruption, and I was pleased to support the successful debate yesterday.”

“Having taken so much out of BHS, I believe Philip Green has an obligation to ensure the hole in the BHS pension fund is plugged. I hope he takes note of yesterday’s debate and does the decent thing by his former workers – Parliament will remain on his case.”
