MP says Commons has endorsed Brexit plans
This morning the former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, gave a speech in support of Britain remaining in the EU, saying he was on a ‘mission’ to persuade voters to change their minds on Brexit.
John said,
“As an MP who voted against the Iraq War, I well remember the last time Tony Blair went ‘on a mission’. He was wrong then, and he is wrong now. It perhaps surprising to some that he does not accept the voters’ decision.”
“There is no doubt that Britain is leaving the EU. This was the electorate’s clear decision on 23rd June, and the House of Commons overwhelmingly voted last week to endorse the Government’s Brexit plans. I look forward to Article 50 being triggered by the end of March.”
