MP supports Theresa May continuing as Prime Minister
Following the results of the General Election John Baron MP said:
“I would like to thank the residents of Basildon and Billericay for re-electing me – it is a great honour to be an MP, and my team and I will continue to serve everyone as we have done for the last 16 years. I want to also thank my association, team, as well as my agent, Cllr. Tony Hedley, for their support and encouragement over this period. ”
“I firmly believe that Theresa May should remain as Prime Minister and that, with the support of the DUP, we can form a Government for the next 5 years. If we can make a coalition with the Liberal Democrats work, there is no reason why this should not either.”
“The first priority now is to make a success of the Brexit negotiations which begin in 11 days – many opportunities now lie open to us.”
