MP congratulates the team for this exciting initiative
John Baron MP has officially opened the new Cornerstone Coffee Shop at Christ Church, Perry Street, Billericay. John was joined by Reverend Margaret Fowler and volunteers. The coffee shop was set up after a survey of the local community when it topped the poll of what most people would most like to see at the church. It has already proved a great success with local mums in particular who use the church car park when dropping off children at Buttsbury School. The Billericay Town Crier, Jim Shrubb also joined in the celebrations.
John said:
“Congratulations go to Reverend Margaret Fowler, Maureen Mynard and her 15 volunteers, the Building team and everyone else involved with this great initiative from which both the church and the local community are benefiting. It has been a great team effort.”
“I also enjoyed hearing about the church’s exciting building plans for the future and meeting the team involved. We have promised to keep in touch – the church also participates in the annual Fun Walk”.
Reverend Margaret Fowler said:
“Churches are often the largest building in the community and today we need to be imaginative with our facilities to better serve our communities. At Christ Church we have given our dusty old choir vestry a new lease of life and now people are singing their praises about it”
