John Baron MP welcomes issuing of Section 61 Notices to Hannakins Farm and Radford Crescent travellers

MP liaises with Essex Police and local councillors

Following further travellers occupying Hannakins Farm and Radford Crescent, Billericay, and reports suggesting criminal damage, John Baron MP yesterday contacted Essex Police and has discussed the situation with Chief Inspector Sam Smith, Basildon District Commander. The Police are on site this morning with Cllr Tony Hedley. Two Section 61 Notices have been issued.

John said:

“From my conversation with the Police, they are fully aware of the urgency of the situation and have now issued two Section 61 Notices. With Cllr Tony Hedley in attendance, the first has been issued at Hannakins Farm with the travellers being given just one hour to leave. The second has been issued against the travellers in Radford Crescent with notice also to leave this morning.”

“Having liaised with Cllrs Tony Hedley and Kevin Blake, we have also asked the Police to collate evidence with a view to seeking reparations for the damage caused and to make arrests as necessary. I am also raising this issue with the Government.”
