MP says have your say

John Baron MP has today urged local residents to respond to Essex County Council’s consultation on bus services which will define the services supported by the Council in the future. The majority of the bus network in Essex (around 85%) is run commercially. Commercial bus services do not form part of this review, this includes most of the daytime and peak period services in and between towns. The remaining 15% of services are not commercially viable and the commercial bus operators will not therefore run them. These services are provided by the Council and form part of the consultation. The consultation runs until 22nd March 2019.

John said:

“It is important for local residents to have their say and ensure that important bus routes continue to be funded. Buses are often a lifeline for elderly and disabled members of the community and it is important the Council understands the impact of any changes it wishes to make.”
