MP hears of plans to offer alternative route to the conventional education curriculum

John Baron MP, at the invitation of Russell Stilwell (RSE Managing Director), has visited RSE Building Services, Hornsby Square, Laindon. John was shown their new training room and heard of the company’s plans to offer students age 10-16 the chance to attend a ‘Constructionwise Academy’ enabling them to establish an alternative route to the conventional education curriculum. This will give students a chance to learn basic construction/engineering principles as well as elements of Personal, Social and Health Education (PHSE) and general well-being life skills.

RSE are currently trailing a pilot scheme for changing LED light fittings within Quilters Infants School, Billericay.

John said:

“RSE have ambitious plans to provide students with choices should they not be stimulated by the traditional route of academia at school, by offering career advice and the teaching of electrical skills. Russell is getting the message out to the schools and refining plans. We want to help and make this idea work – many students would benefit.”

Russell Stillwell said:

“John Baron MP’s backing of Construction Wise including his visit to RSE Building Services, is enabling us to take the initiative to the next level, rapidly building stakeholder support and creating opportunities for many young people to access the programme. We are leading the way in positively transforming how our children learn about their future career. Through John’s endorsement, I’m excited to see what we can achieve in 2019.”
