MP encourages residents to vote for Lake Meadows

Lake Meadows has been nominated for the ‘Best Park 2019’ award organised by Fields in Trust UK, a charity supporting parks and green spaces by protecting them and helping to ensure they are not lost. The ‘Best Park’ award allows the public to vote for their favourite local green space – voting runs until noon on Monday, 19th August. Details are below.

John said,

“I congratulate all those involved in the running of Lake Meadows on its nomination for the ‘Best Park 2019’ award. It is a cherished local amenity and popular with families.”

“I will be voting for Lake Meadows, and encourage all to do likewise.”

Notes to Editors:

• The vote is online at: http://www.fieldsintrust.org/best-park/east/lake-meadows. Voting closes at noon on 19th August.

• The top park in each of the Home Nations will be shortlisted with the overall winner. The UK’s Best Park will be announced in mid-September.

• Fields in Trust is an independent charity with other 90 years’ experience, protecting 2,809 parks and other green spaces – over 12,000 hectares in total across the UK – for future generations’ enjoyment.
