MP says Small Charities Challenge Fund now open for applications
John Baron MP has today encouraged local small charities to make an application for funds to the Small Charities Challenge Fund which opened at the beginning of September for applications from small charities based in the UK. The DFID fund provides grants for development organisations with an annual income of £250,000 or less working in some of the world’s poorest countries to deliver on wide-ranging priorities. Grants of up to £50,000 are available for projects up to two years in duration. The next application review date will be 28th November.
John said:
“I would encourage any small local charities that are doing development work abroad to look into whether they are eligible to apply for this fund. I understand the fund has previously run as a pilot, and in so doing enabled a number of small UK based charities to undertake important projects in countries such as Kenya, Bangladesh and Tanzania.”
