MP praises 2393 squadron for their high standards

On Sunday, after John Baron MP attended the Basildon Remembrance Service at St Martin’s Church, he visited 2393 squadron in Billericay. Here he attended a short memorial service in honour of Squadron Leader Reg Ferris [a much loved community figure], presented the keys to a new minibus to the Squadron [bought with help from over £1,500 raised in John’s Fun Walk], and presented certificates to various cadets for various achievements. Also present to help with the presentation was Councillor Tony Hedley. Both John and Tony were presented with certificates of thanks from the Squadron for their assistance in the past.

John said:

“2393 Squadron is an outstanding unit and has an excellent reputation amongst its peers. Its work in the community is also to be commended. Everyone involved can be proud of the Squadron’s achievements.”

“It was therefore a pleasure to be with them on Remembrance Sunday, and to present the new minibus keys funded in part by Fun Walk sponsorship. It was also a pleasure to present awards and certificates to individual cadets for some outstanding achievements.”
