MP says those who are able to help should register with Essex County Council
John Baron MP has today called for local community groups, businesses and individuals who wish to help the vulnerable or self-isolating with essential tasks [such as food shopping or collecting medication] to register with Essex Coronavirus Action which is a collaboration between Essex County Council, The Essex Public Health Team, and local Facebook groups.
John said,
“It is heartening to see so many local people coming together to assist others in difficult times. However, it is important that we have a co-ordinated approach to best ensure that the elderly, vulnerable and those self-isolating are still able to receive food and medical deliveries. I would therefore encourage those who are able to sign up to the Essex Coronavirus Action group and offer assistance where you can. Anyone who is in need of assistance can call 0300 303 9988 between 8am and 8pm 7 days a week.”
