MP says no-one should be left behind

Basildon Council has launched its Community Hub, which intends to provide support to the elderly and most vulnerable in our community at this time of national emergency. The Hub will co-ordinate all resources across the borough – council, public, voluntary and private sector – as well as communities themselves. Please see ‘notes to editors’ below for registration details.

“Having raised with the Prime Minister and locally the importance of reaching out to the elderly and vulnerable, particularly those who live alone, so that no-one is inadvertently overlooked during the current crisis, I welcome this excellent initiative and congratulate all involved in setting it up. I encourage all residents requiring support to register with the Hub – at this difficult time, no-one should be left behind or feel alone.”

Scott Logan, Chief Executive of Basildon Council said,

“The welfare and safety of our communities is our number one priority. Lots of people have contacted us to offer their help and we are really thankful for that. We also want people to let us know if they need help themselves or know of those who need help at this time. Our staff are working very hard to make sure no one goes unseen or unheard during this crisis.”
